LOVE GAME HELP NEEDED: How many days am I supposed to wait…?

So I know there’s rules to this kind of stuff.

But I’m not always farmilliar with them.

SCENARIO :

Let’s say that I have a mild crush or think someone is cute after meeting them a few times.

Let’s say that I am this person’s facebook friend and decide to send them a message indirectly asking them to hang out.

Let’s say that I realize 3 hours after I send the message that I’m a dumbass and realized this person gave me their number and I could have texted them.

Let’s say that now it’s been 5 days since I sent the facebook message and have gotten no responce although I know that this person has been on facebook since I sent it.

Am I allowed to text this person eventhough it’s been almost 2 weeks since they apprently gave me their number, and has been 5 days since I sent my facebook message ?

Or do I just drop it and figure that he’s just not that into me?
