What You Need To Know About Occupy Wall Street! I’ll admit, I didn’t know what to make of the Occupy Wall St. protestors. Who are they? Why do I see them every day I get off the subway for work? And most importantly, what do they want? Though the Occupy Wall St. manifesto is extensive in their list of grievances (all of which are extremely important), there are a few key points that stand out among the rest.
Two issues caused confusion for me: an initial lack of clarity of their mission and the media showing a skewed representation of what that mission was. After seeing the protesters day after day (in person as well as on my Twitter feed), my mind grew more and more curious. I thought, “I get it, the economy sucks, but what is sitting in a park doing to change that?” Since then, I’ve done my research and have grasped a better understanding of the mission, why they are here, and what they want to change.
