So last night I joined my partner in crime, TJ Kelly, to the premier for Logo’s new reality show, The A-List.
The A-List, which is affectionately being called ‘The Gay Housewives’, follows the lives of 6 ‘fabulous’ New Yorkers (and TJ)
Ryan Nickulas (celebrity hair salon owner), Mike Ruiz (celebrity photographer), Reichen Lehmkuhl (Reality TV star, and former Air Force pilot), Rodney (Reichen’s model boyfriend), Derek Lloyd Saathoff (modeling agent), Austin Armacost (model), and my boy TJ Kelly (best friend of main cast-member Ryan Nickulas). Although TJ is not a “featured cast-member” definitely has some of the best quotes and quips throughout the episode.
Overall I have to say the show was much more entertaining than I thought it would be. I was excited to watch to see TJ, but while watching was actually drawn to the other characters as well. Of course, it makes you want to slap certain cast members, laugh at others, and be best friends with some, but I think it shows good and bad parts of each character and lets you make your own judgements for the most part.
What was the best part about being at the premier last night, was being able to interact with the cast members after watching the show. Everyone was surprisingly sweet, and all seemed reasonably friendly with each other.
All in all, I’ll keep watching. I’m interested in seeing how they perceive New York City lifestyle.
The A-List premiers on Logo Oct 4th!
