PAPER PRESENTS!
Less than 48 hours ’til Christmas, and if you’re anything like me, you have $10 left to your name and 30 more people to get gifts for. Throw your last few bucks together at the dollar store and get some paper, glue, tape, and markers. I’m going to explore some crafty and thoughtful last minute paper presents you can make for those left on your list.
Custom Paper Ornaments: Simple, cute, and completely customizable. Take this mini how-to and get creative with it. One thing I always try to do to paper gifts like this to make them special is to write something personal on them. Get a silver or gold metallic sharpie and write some meaningful song lyrics, inspirational quotes, or a handwritten message to the person you love. Mix and match stripes of leftover wrapping paper or patterned origami paper to give it a little bit of a “probably sold at urban outfitters” feel to it. (click here for directions)
Paper Diva Foldables: I freaked out when I found these a few months back . Of course I immediately printed out every one of the Spice Girls and made them for my desk at work, but then I thought, what a brilliant idea for a gift. Make someone their favorite pop icon! The website where I found these, Rabsico Pop (which is in Portuguese, so good luck), has everyone from Gaga, to Beiber, Jessie J, Harry Potter, Ke$ha, Rihanna, and more. If you want to get creative, alter these templates to look like you or your friends. What more could a person want than their very own foldable of you to stare at them from their desk every day?
